A triple-threat of an evening, this community event hosts the world premiere of  Heartland Film's latest production "Original Jayhawker," a concert performance by Arkansas-native country singer Blane Howard and a fundraising effort for the construction of a brand new, community splash park.

Original Jayhawker is a documentary centered around the quaint town of Mound City, Kansas. Located in Eastern Kansas, not far from the Missouri border, Mound City is nestled among hills filled with Sugar Maples. The film captures the spirit and history of Mound City and its inhabitants. Spanning nearly 200 years of history, Original Jayhawker highlights the historical significance and its small town culture through the generations.

Arkansas native Blane Howard is putting his own personal stamp on the Nashville music industry.  You may recognize the singer-songwriter from his latest single, "Rock On her Window" or his widely-streamed wedding anthem, "Promise to Love Her" whose video streamed on CMT.  Blane is a multi-year winner of the Arkansas CMA Male Vocalist of the Year and was named CMT's Next Up Now Artist for May 2021.  Blane has opened for artists such as Blake Shelton, Josh Turner, Lauren Alaina, Trace Adkins, Rodney Atkins and many more.  Though you might be most familiar with his recent Kansas City Chiefs hype song and video, "Run it Back," which has over 2 million video streams and was used by the KC Chiefs during the playoffs in 2020.  Visit Blane's website to read more about his journey and to find his music.

Splash Park

Splash Park

The evening will host a fundraising effort towards the construction of a brand new splash park to be built on the south side of Mound City near the town's ballfields.  Limited edition Original Jayhawker film merchandise will be up for auction the night of the premiere, there will be multiple donation stations on site the night of the premiere, or you can donate now using the link below:
